I grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan and have always been interested in promoting the family farm. In 2009, with more health problems in the family due to chemicals, I started using and selling local beeswax candles. In 2010 I offered to help the owner with her business and began my apprenticeship. After one year apprenticing, and finding I enjoyed the business I decided to purchase Joan's Beeswax Candles on July 1, 2011.
I became a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council in March 2011, and have kept up my membership. I am also a member of the Saskatchewan Artisan's Co-Op. I participate in all SCC markets through-out the year and Artisan's Craft Market in November.
I have been married since 1992, and have three grown children. My husband and I live in Hague, Saskatchewan.
